WikitubeTrends ("we," "our," or "us") operates the WikitubeTrends service available at https://www.wikitubetrends.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our service.
Important Notice: This service uses YouTube API Services. By using WikitubeTrends, you are also agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
1. YouTube API Services
WikitubeTrends uses YouTube API Services to search for and retrieve publicly available information about YouTube channels and videos. This enables us to identify creators covering trending topics derived from Wikipedia pageview data.
1.1 How We Use YouTube API Services
We use the YouTube Data API v3 to:
- Search for YouTube channels related to trending Wikipedia topics
- Retrieve publicly available channel information (channel name, channel ID, public video counts, public subscriber counts)
- Compile lists of relevant creators for our reports
1.2 Google Privacy Policy
Because we use YouTube API Services, Google's privacy practices also apply to data obtained through these services. Please review the Google Privacy Policy to understand how Google handles data.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 YouTube API Data
Through the YouTube API Services, we access and store the following publicly available information:

Note: The developers of WikitubeTrends do not use cookies for anything. Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps, of which this website is an example of, have some built-in cookie functionality, but the developers do not use that functionality for any purpose.

When you visit our website, we may automatically collect:

- Browser type and version
- Device information
- Pages visited and time spent
- Referring website
Note: WikitubeTrends and its developers do not collect any user information. The only data that is collected is whatever Cloudflare, Microsoft Azure, and other parts of the infrastructure of this website collect by default.
3. How We Use Your Information
3.1 Primary Uses
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide our trend discovery and creator identification service
- Generate reports identifying YouTube creators related to trending topics
3.2 What We Do NOT Do
We do not:
- Sell your personal information to third parties
- Use YouTube API data for advertising or marketing purposes
- Track your YouTube viewing history or personal YouTube activity
- Access private or non-public YouTube data without authorization
4. How We Share Information
4.1 Internal Sharing
We do not share information internally.
4.2 External Sharing
We may share information with:
- Service Providers: Third-party companies that help us operate our service (e.g., cloud hosting providers like Microsoft Azure). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to affected users.
Note: WikitubeTrends and its developers do not collect any user information. The only data that is collected is whatever Cloudflare, Microsoft Azure, and other parts of the infrastructure of this website collect by default.
4.3 Report Distribution
Our reports contain aggregated, publicly available YouTube channel information. These reports are provided to our users and contain only public data that is already available on YouTube.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
5.1 YouTube API Data Retention
In compliance with YouTube API Services Terms of Service:
- Non-Authorized Data: Public YouTube data retrieved without user authorization is stored for a maximum of 30 calendar days and is then automatically deleted or refreshed.
- Authorization Tokens: If you authorize our application to access your YouTube data, we store authorization tokens only as long as necessary for the authorized purposes.
5.2 Your Data Deletion Rights
You have the right to request deletion of your data. To request deletion:
- Email us at [email protected] with subject line "Data Deletion Request"
- Include your account email address or other identifying information
- We will delete your data within 7 calendar days of receiving your request
Note: Deleting your data from WikitubeTrends does not delete any data stored by YouTube or Google. To manage data stored by Google, visit your Google Account connections settings.
5.3 Revoking YouTube API Access
If you have authorized WikitubeTrends to access your YouTube data, you can revoke this access at any time by:
- Visiting the Google Security Settings page
- Finding WikitubeTrends in your list of connected applications
- Clicking "Remove Access" to revoke our authorization
Upon revocation, we will delete all authorized data associated with your account within 7 calendar days.
6. Third-Party Services
Our service integrates with the following third-party services:
- YouTube API Services - Subject to YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy
- Microsoft Azure - Our cloud infrastructure provider
- Authentication Providers - GitHub, Google, and Microsoft for user sign-in
7. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
8. International Data Transfers
Our service is operated from the United States. If you are accessing our service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers are located.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

12. Additional YouTube API Compliance Information
In accordance with YouTube API Services Terms of Service:
- We use exactly one (1) Google Cloud API Project for our WikitubeTrends application
- We access only publicly available data through the YouTube Data API v3
- We do not aggregate YouTube API data to gain insights into YouTube's business
- We delete or refresh all non-authorized YouTube API data within 30 calendar days
- We display YouTube content with proper attribution in accordance with YouTube Branding Guidelines
